More Around the Island 2012

A few more shots from our trip around the Island.

 Windsurfing on the windward side.

 Entrance to Punta Sur Park.

 Some of the local wildlife.
Rasta's.  First bar on the windward side at the southern end of the Island.

Locals enjoying a nice Sunday afternoon.  This shot was taken from Coconuts Bar and Grill.

Around the Island 2012

We always like to rent a jeep and go around the Island.  The scenery on the windward side is quite different.  There are several watering holes and we try to stop and have a beer at each one.
There were numerous signs like this all around Coconuts Bar and Grill.

CJ, David, and Terri, getting ready to head up the hill to Coconuts.

A really neat grill and bar.  Sits up on a cliff overlooking the open Carribean.
A shot of the Punta Sur lighthouse.
Playa Bonita.  Nice little bar with good nachos.

Cozumel June 2012

In June of 2012 Terri and I once again returned to our favorite vacation spot, Cozumel.  We were accompanied by friends David Comer and CJ Howse.  We returned to El Coz, our go to resort on the Island.  Did an 8 night stay this time around and had a great time.  Got in lots of diving, David and CJ got certified, and we met new friends.  Enjoy our shots.

Myself, Terri, CJ, and David waiting to eat.

I think David is contemplating getting another beer.

CJ and Terri at Casino Night.

 The giant chess set.

A few more shots from December 2011.

Here's Christy heading down to the dive boat.  Her first blue water dive.

Trey headed down.  His first blue water dive also.

Terri and I on the bottom.  Not real sure which reef.  Good to be back underwater again.

Headed home.  Trey's pretty much out of it.

Shot of the resort pool from our 8th floor balcony.

December 2011.

In December of 2011 Terri and I treated Trey and his girlfriend, Christy Ginn to 5 nights in Cozumel.  We stayed at the El Cozumeleno Beach Resort and fell in love with the place.  It became our go to place in Cozumel.  We also hooked up with a small dive operation and really like them.  Divemaster Jorge Dzul is in our opinion the best on the Island.  Boat Captain Felix Camacho was always ready with a smile and a helping hand, and it was all put together by Salvadore Aguilar who is the Director of Operations of the parent company, Grupo America.  Really great people.

Our go to lodging in Cozumel.

Felix, one of the best there is.

Casino night at the resort.  Myself, Trey, and Christy.  Yep those are Cubans we are smoking.

Terri and some of the absolutely great staff at El Coz.

Myself and the best damned divemaster on the Island.
